Outlook Express is a popular POP email software from
Microsoft which is available on both Windows and
Macintosh platforms. This tutorial will show you how to
configure Outlook Express to retrieve mail from
your email account. The following screen shots are taken
with Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP, but they should be
very similar to other versions on different operating
systems.
Step
1: Start your Outlook Express software.

2: Click Tools and select
Accounts.

Step 3: On the Internet Accounts page,
select the Mail tab, click Add and then select
Mail.

Step 4: On the Your Name page,
Type in your Display Name this is the name that
your recipients will see in the “From” field of
e-mails that you send then Next.

Step 5: On
the Internet E-mail Address page, Enter your complete
email address and click Next. Please make sure to
replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual domain name.

Step 6: On the E-mail Server Names
page, select POP3 as your incoming server type and enter
the Incoming and
Outgoing Mail Servers and then click
Next to continue.

Incoming mail server = mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail server
= This is provided by your ISP. See below for the
setting of major ISPs in Hong Kong.

If
your ISP does not provide SMTP server service, please
enter smtp.yourdomain.com (reqeust smtp auth-login)
CLICK HERE for details.
Step 7: On the Internet Mail Logon
screen, enter your Full email address
" Example
user@yourdomain.com
" as your Account name and your email account password
and then click Next. DO NOT check 'Log on using Secure
Password Authentication (SPA)'.

Step 8:
Congratulations! You have successfully setup your POP
email software. Click Finish to end.
